Cullen Financial Services provides personal mortgage and property finance advice across Somerset and the wider South West.

Our experienced team helps clients with residential mortgages, remortgages, equity release, bridging finance, commercial mortgages and second-charge mortgages. We combine extensive financial-services experience with genuine local knowledge and strong community connections.

Jamie Cullen is the founder and owner of Cullen Financial Services, an independent mortgage and property finance business serving clients across Somerset and the wider South West.

Jamie has worked for several major and specialist banks, including NatWest, Lloyds and TSB. Before establishing Cullen Financial Services, his most recent banking role was Head of Mortgages at Aldermore, a specialist mortgage and commercial bank.

He has strong personal and professional connections throughout Bruton, Castle Cary and Taunton, having lived and worked locally and previously played rugby in Taunton.

Jamie advises clients on residential mortgages, remortgages, equity release, bridging finance, commercial mortgages and second-charge mortgages. He is particularly experienced in helping people with complex circumstances, including clients who may have been declined by a high-street bank.

Under Jamie’s leadership, Cullen Financial Services has developed a reputation for approachable, personal advice and a determination to find solutions for its clients.

The business actively supports local schools, sports clubs and community organisations, including Castle Cary Cricket Club. Jamie believes a local mortgage adviser should be visible, accessible and genuinely involved in the communities they serve.

Major (Retired) Edward Cullen completed 31 years of distinguished military service and has an exceptional record of leadership and community involvement in Taunton.

Edward has a long association with Taunton Rugby Club, where he played for a number of years before later serving as head coach. He has also served as chairman of Vivary Park Golf Club in central Taunton.

Edward helped establish Somerset Armed Forces Day and remains its chairman. Under his leadership, it has grown into a major free Armed Forces community event, attracting more than 40,000 people to Taunton in 2025.

He also runs the monthly Taunton Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club, bringing veterans together and helping members of the Armed Forces community access friendship and support.

During the Covid pandemic, Edward and his wife Jackie used their catering facilities to provide Sunday lunches for housebound and vulnerable local people, initially funding the free meals themselves.

Their work was recognised with the Somerset Medal in 2021. Edward later received a High Sheriff of Somerset Award for his valuable service to the community.

In 2026, Edward received a Civic Award and became the inaugural recipient of the Taunton Cup in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Taunton, the Armed Forces and the wider community.

Edward combines his leadership experience, extensive local connections and commitment to service when helping mortgage and property finance clients across Taunton and the surrounding Somerset area.

Andrew Morgan was a highly respected mortgage adviser in Weston-super-Mare who helped thousands of people throughout his long career.

Andrew was known for his knowledge, personal service and determination to help clients, particularly those who had struggled to obtain a mortgage elsewhere. He built lasting relationships, with many clients returning to him and recommending him to their families and friends.

Following Andrew’s very sad passing, Cullen Financial Services is proud to support his family and continue looking after his clients.

The firm remains committed to preserving the care, personal service and trusted legacy Andrew built within Weston-super-Mare and the wider North Somerset community.

Born in Minehead, Adam Mills has strong roots across West Somerset, with family in the area and an excellent understanding of the local community.

Adam has around 20 years of experience in banking and financial services. His career includes serving as a NatWest bank manager in both Williton and Minehead, working for Lloyds Bank in Minehead and, most recently, working as the TSB bank manager in Minehead.

Adam’s children attend school locally, and he has been involved with cricket and football in Minehead. His combination of senior banking experience and lifelong local knowledge means clients receive mortgage advice from someone who genuinely knows the area and its people.

Adam supports homebuyers, homeowners and property investors throughout Minehead, Watchet, Williton and the surrounding West Somerset communities.

Tim Rees has approximately 30 years of experience in banking and financial services, including senior roles with Lloyds Banking Group and Scottish Widows.

Tim has strong local connections throughout Weston-super-Mare and North Somerset. He is an active golfer and member of Burnham & Berrow Golf Club, where he has also served as club captain.

Combining extensive financial knowledge with a friendly, face-to-face approach, Tim helps individuals and families with mortgages, remortgages and property finance.

His experience and local knowledge make him ideally placed to advise clients throughout Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea and the surrounding North Somerset area.

Robert Archer provides administrative support at Cullen Financial Services, helping the advisers deliver an organised, responsive and personal service to clients.

Before moving to Somerset, Robert spent many years working in IT in the City of London. He later decided to leave London for a quieter pace of life and moved to Bruton, where he has become an active and well-known member of the local community.

Robert is married and has one grown-up child. Away from work, he is a keen football supporter with a particular passion for West Ham United.

Louise Hill is Personal Assistant to Jamie Cullen and plays an important role in the day-to-day running of Cullen Financial Services and supporting its mortgage clients.

Louise comes from an educational background, having previously worked in management and administration within education in Dorset. She brings strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a friendly, approachable manner to the team.

Originally from Frome, Louise now lives in Bruton with her daughter and has strong family connections throughout South Somerset.

Away from work, Louise enjoys playing skittles for her local team in Bruton.
